New dinosaur footprints

dinosaur footprints discovered in Teruel.
The new tracks, which can be visited on a new route that has been presented at a symposium in Hannover (Germany), are arranged in a trail of about 23 meters long and consists of 30 steps that are attributed to a dinosaur type 'Dacentrurus', a estogosaurio neck and long tail that lived in the late Jurassic, about 150 million years. Paleontologists Dinópolis Foundation believe their finding may help to reinterpret footprints so far not well classified.

The Foundation's scientific director, Luis Alcalá, and the researcher Rafael Royo-Torres had gone to Germany to raise awareness of the rich on fish of the Peninsula and particularly of Aragon, where they have discovered to date fields in the municipalities of Galve, Ababuj, Alfambra Aguilar, Cedrillas, Formiche Alto, Riodeva and the aforementioned El Castellar, where a total of 800 footprints have been discovered. Species diversity

In their study, the Foundation team has been able to determine the variety of dinosaurs and estegosarios that lived 145 million years ago in the Iberian Peninsula, has been promoted as a candidate, supported by Spain and Portugal , for inclusion in the World Heritage List of Unesco. Would not be the first prehistoric included, because they are the Laetoli (in Tanzania), which were made by a 'Australopithecus afarensis', a human ancestor, but whether they were the first dinosaur tracks.

The tracks are of great scientific importance of the data provided on the mobility of the fauna of the Mesozoic and their behavior. Thus, the discovery of traces grouped in the same individuals allowed out that Stegosaurus was gregarious, or that the ornithopods (plant-eating dinosaurs) were bipedal or quadrupedal motion. Even they have found footprints of a giant carnivorous theropod, 10 meters in length.
